First post in my new blog. I'm going to attempt to track the training I'm doing, and other amusing anecdotes, for my first half-marathon. If I survive that, I'm going to attempt a triathlon (likely, sprint-distance) next year.
This morning I woke up to go run hills, which I normally do in the park across the street. Specifically I run repeats on a short, steep little guy. That being said, after having had champagne for dinner last night, the desire to do an intense, sweaty workout was diminished, to say the least. Instead I opted for a route that involves a long, slow incline for about 3km. Nice, quiet, side-streets, etc. The most amazing part of this is I actually ran my little heart out on a hangover. Well done, me! I don't often have drinks during the week, but my big sis was in town, and she (with two very very very wee little'uns) doesn't get out much so she was hell bent on Moet and no food. Good times were had by all.
Tomorrow, back to the gym for weight training and then tempo run on Friday, long run on Saturday, and long-deserved rest on Sunday.
